This digital copy is part of a set of 8mm films taken by Norman and Eleanor Appelget of their property in Northfield, Vermont, which they named Norel Farm. The footage for the entire set of reels spans the years between the 1950's into the 1970's. The Cape-style house shown in the film is the second oldest in Northfield and was built by Ezekiel and Dinah Robinson before 1816. No index sheet to this reel's film content was created. Content of this video includes a panned shot of the farm land in winter, possibly the Appelgets walking down a dirt road near their farm, people boarding an airplane, goats in a pen, and scenes from a local fair which included young people showing dairy calves and sheep, horse teams pulling weight in competition, and chainsaw, ax, and hand saw competitions. The final scenes are of a cement or concrete mixing truck pouring for foundation work, a bulldozer coming off a truck bed, and the smoothing of concrete within that same foundation.
